Bandwidth
In internet connection terms, it is the amount of data that can be carried per second and is usually measured in megabytes. The higher the megabyte value the faster your pages will load.
When specified by an Internet Service Provider, it is the monthly quota of data that you are allowed to upload or download (send or receive) with your internet connection.
Content Management System - CMS
A separate system which allows you to change pre-defined areas of a website without needing the services of a website designer.
Internet Service Provider - ISP
Is a company that provides the connection to the internet and may also host your website and provide email addresses.
Pixelated
Describes an image where the edges are fuzzy or 'squared' by individual pixels being visible to the naked eye.
This usually occurs when a digital image has been re-sized several times, usually from a small image to a large one.

When you use a search engine like Google, and you type in the search box what you are looking for, the search engine will display a list of
websites based on the words which you have typed into the box. The aim of SEO is to encourage search engines to bring YOUR website to the top of that list.

Spam
Unsolicited junk e-mails sent to many people all at once, often involving fraudulent activity. It is believed the term 'spam' is derived from the
Monty Python viking spam sketch. Spam is not allowed to be sent from any hosting service provided by Minting Design.
Secure Sockets Layer - SSL (Golden Padlock)
Secure Sockets Layer - a technical term for a communications protocol. A Golden Padlock enables secure data transfer to a server by encrypting information.
This allows your customers to use your on-line checkout safely and securely.
Uniform Resource Locator - URL
Uniform Resource Locator - a technical term but in popular usage, it is a Website Address. i.e. www.mintingdesign.co.uk
